7)How does Shastriji become a pawn in the hands of the narrator to serve his purpose?

Dear student,

The narrator was keen to get Ranga get married to Ratna and enlisted the help of the village astrologer, Shastriji for this purpose. He asked Shastriji to tell Ranga that his worries were related to a girl whose name was something found in the ocean. The astrologer and narrator steered Ranga into believing that the girl was Ratna, a precious pearl found in the ocean. That is how Shastriji became a pawn in the hands of the narrator.
