A 3000 kg truck moving at a speed of 72 km per hour stops after covering some distance. The force applied by the brake is 24000 N. Compute the distance covered and the work done by the force

Work Done = Kinetic Energy of the Truck
72Km/h = 20m/s
=> Fs = mv2/2
=> s = Fmv2/2
=> s = 24000 * 3000 * 20 * 20 / 2 = 144 * 108 m = 144 * 105 km
Work Done = 3.456 * 1011 Joules = 3.46 * 1011 Joules ~ 3.5 * 1011 Joules
