a body is at height equal to the radius of the earth from the surface of earth. with what velocity be it thrown so that it goes out of gravitation field of earth mass of earth 6into 10*24 kg radius of earth 6.4 into 10*6 m

Given:  Height  of the body =  Radius of Earth

             Mass of Earth = 6 x 10 24 kg

             Radius of Earth = 6.4 x 106 m

             Escape velocity of earth i.e.,  ve = (2 g R)0.5  ( Sorry.... I can't express under root symbol)

             First we need to find, the acceleration due to gravity at the given height.

            So,    g= 9.8 x 6.4 x 10 24               ( From, gh = g R2        )

                             6.4 x 10 24 + 6.4 x 10 24                        (R + h)2

           gh = 4.9 ms-1   ( After simplification)

          Now put the value of gh in g in (2 g R)0.5

          ve = (2 x 4.9 x 6.4 x 106)0.5

ve ~ 8 x 102  ( Exact value is 7.9 x 102

       Hope this helps you............

You take square root instead of taking to the power 0.5
