A body of mass 2 kg floats in a liquid. What is the buoyant force acting on the body? I have been given the answer as 19.6 N. Is it correct? Please explain.

Dear Student!!

When a body is floating in a liquid then the weight of the body is equal to the buoyant force acting on the body.

Buoyant force = Weight of the body = mg =2×9.8 =19.6 N
