A bomb of mass 1 kg is thrown vertically upwards with a speed of 100m/s. After 5s,it explodes into fragements. One fragment of mass 600g is found to go down with a speed of 50m/s.What will happen to the second fragment just after the explosion?(g=10 m/s2)

Velocity at time of explode =u-gt =100-50... =50. Now as total momentum is conserved so ..MV(j)=m1v1(j) +m2v2(-j) . Using M =1KG V=50m/s and m1=2/5kg and v1=25 m/s .;; m2=3/5kg we get v2 = 100m/s (upward direction).....
