A boy runs on a straight road from his home to a market 2.0km away with a speed of 4km/h.
Finding the market closed ,he at once runs back to his home with a speed of 6km/h. Calculate his
(i) average speed (ii) magnitude of average velocity and (iii) average speed of the boy in the time
interval 0- 30 minutes and 0- 45 minutes.

Dear student

To solve this problem we shall find the total distance and total time for the parts asking for average speed, and total displacement for the part asking average velocity.

(2)  Total displacement of the boy = 0; because the boy is back at home.
So, the magnitude of average velocity = (total displacement)/(total time) = 0

(3)

I have taken second interval from 0-40.
The concept will help you.
