A change in the physical state of any matter can be caused by either of the following:
(I) By changing temperature (ii) By changing pressure (iii) By changing both temperature and pressure. 'Give one example of each....
Dear student,
i) By changing temperature: Ex- Water to ice.
On reducing the temperature, or cooling water we get ice. Change in state from liquid( water) to solid(ice) takes place.
ii) By changing pressure: Ex- Melting of rock ( some type)
Decreasing pressure can cause the melting of some type of rocks.
iii) By changing pressure and temperature: Ex- Liquefaction of gases
On increasing pressure and decreasing temperature, a substance in a gaseous state change into a liquid state.
