a cistron consists of 20 codons. how many amino acids will it code in the polypeptide transcribed . why ?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

A single codon codes for one amino acid. There will be 19 amino acids produced by 20 codons because the last codon present on mRNA is a stop codon that does not code for any amino acid.

Hope this information will clear your doubts about the amino acids coded by cistron with 20 codons.
