diameter is 1 4m and the height is 3 5m Find the actual area of the
plastic sheet used, if 1/3of the sheet actually used was waisted in
making the water tank (take pie 22/7)

the diameter of the cylindrical tank = 1.4 m

height of the tank h = 3.5 m

the radius of the base of the cylindrical tank r = 1.4/2 = 0.7 m

the total surface area of the cylindrical tank = curved surface area + 2* area of the base

= $2 π r h + 2 π r^{2} = 2 π r (h + r)$

$= 2 * \frac{22}{7} * 0.7 * (3.5 + 0.7) = 4.4 * 4.2 = 18.48 m^{2}$

the waisted sheet = $\frac{1}{3} * 18.48 = 6.16 c m^{2}$

the total plastic sheet = 18.48+6.16 = 24.64 sq cm
