a coin is tossed .if it shows head ,v draw a ball from a bag consisting of 3  red balls n 4 black balls .if it shows a tail ,v throw a dice .what is d sample space if the toss of a coin resulted in a head.

Hi Aishwarya!

Let three red balls are denoted by R1, R2 and R3.
Let four black balls are denoted by B1, B2, Band B4.

The sample space obtained in the experiment = {T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, HR1, HR2, HR3, HB1, HB2, HB3 and HB4}.

The outcomes related to the coin shows the head = {HR1, HR2, HR3, HB1, HB2, HB3 and HB4}.

Cheers!

sample space is 3 red balls and 4 black balls

  • -2

 let head be "H"

SAMPLE SPACE=(H,RED BALL) (H, BLACK BALL)

Hi Aishwariya !!!!

Sample space indicates the number of possible outcomes in an experiment .....

if it is head ... then we draw a ball from a bag containing 3 red balls and 4 black balls ..

Hence total number of possible outcomes = 3 + 4 = 7 ...(ans) ....

Hope this helps !!!!

but i think  ans is 1/7

i hope it is right

dat means sample space is 7...!! rite???

how should v rite t ans.. som1 pls tel t correct steps na

Sample space S (when it is head H in coin) = {r,r,r,b,b,b,b}.. where r represents red ball and b represents black ball .....

n(S) = 7 ....

  • -2

Sample space is not 7 ... n(S) = 7 .. sample space is the set of possible outcomes in an exp ...

Here the Sample space S = {r,r,r,b,b,b,b} ....

I apologise for the mistake in the first part .....
