a jeweler made earnings by cutting wedges from a silver disk. Each wedge cut from a disk cut a 40 angle at the center of the disk.If the weight of each uncut disk was 2.7 grams, how many grams did each wedge weigh?

since the wedge forms an angle of 40 degree  at the centre.
if the angle subtended at the centre is 360, the weight = 2.7 gms [i.e. weight of disk]
therefore if the angle subtended at the centre is 40 deg,
the weight of wedge
=2.7*40360=2.79=0.3 gms

hope this helps you
