A large block of ice 5m thick has a vertical hole drilled through it and is floating in the middle of the lake. What is the minimum length of the rope required to scoop up a bucket full of water through the hole? (relative density of the ice=0.9 )

pls answer fast....😔😔😔😔😭😭😭😭

Let the ice is x m above the water level. Let atas of the ice block is A. Then weight of ice block= A×5×0.9 Weight of water displaced=A×(5-x)×1 As ice is floating, therefore A×5×0.9=A×(5-x)×1 And by solving this we get x=0.5 m So the minimum length of the rope is 0.5 m

As the relative density of ice is 0.9, 10% of ice will flow above water. So the minimum amount of rope required is 10% of 5m i.e 0.5m. THIS IS MUCH EASIER!!!
