A milkman has two types of milk: A and B. Type A has 90% pure milk and 10% water while type B has 95% pure milk and 5% water.
How many respective litres of each type A and B of milk should the milkman mix to obtain 30 litres of 92% pure milk?
PLEASE HELP
Type A contains milk be 90 litres
Type B contains milk be 95 litres
To get the milkman have 92 litres of milk we have
A(90) B(95)
C(92)
(95-92) = 3 (92-90) = 2
Hence A and B mixes in ratio 3: 2 respectively
In 30 litres of mixture, type A mixed = *30 = 18 litres
Type B mixed = *30 = 12 litres
