Dear student,

A mining company was going to excavate a mountain in the Quepertaluke region of South Goa. The people of the region protested against the illegal mining operations and were able to stop it. The values we learn from this incident are-
  • If we work together as a community for our state and the people living it, we can overcome any obstacle and can win over any company.
  • Mining can destroy the land and can also be hazardous to the people living in South Goa. This incident tells us that the people living in that region were fully aware about the environmental risks and crisis mining can cause and took action against it.
  • The mining also affected the Dams and rivers. because of which drinking water was getting polluted and it was turning to be bad for people's health not only in South Goa but also in places near it but the people of Goa didn't let that happen.
Regards.
