A number is selected at random from first 50 natural numbers. Find the probability that it is multiple of 3 and 4.

Total numbers = 50

LCM of 3 and 4 = 12

Numbers divisible by 3 and 4 must be divisible by 12.

So, numbers divisible by 12 = 12, 24, 36, 48

Number of favourable outcomes = 4

Required probability =

  • 17

probobility (e)=Number of favourable outcomes/ Total number of outcomes

P(multiple of 3 and 4)=24/50

                                       =12/25

Hope it helped u ..thumbs up please

  • -3

possible outcomes= 12,24,36,48=4

total no. of outcomes=50

probability= 4/50=2/25

  • 2

Total number of outcomes= 50

Favourable outcomes= 12,24,36,48.

Number of favourable outcomes= 4

Probability of getting a multiple of 3 or 4= Number of favourable outcomes/ total number of outcomes

  = 4/50

 = 2/25

Hope this helps....!!!!!

Cheers...!!!!!

Best of luck for the board exams next week.....
