Let , A number  =  x 

As given : A number is three times another. So

Another number = 3 x 

Also given : Their sum is 64. So

x + 6 x  =  64

4 x  = 64

x  = 16

So,

Our numbers  = 16 and 3 ( 16 ) = 48                                              ( Ans )
