First find the area of the outer square: S x S = 90 x 90
= 8100 sq m.
Then the side of the inner square: Side of outer square subtracted with the product of 2 and the width of path
= 90 - 2 x 5
= 90 - 10 = 80 m
So now the area of the inner square = 80 x 80 = 6400 sq m.

Now subtract the Area of outer square with the area of inner square: 8100 - 6400 = 1600 sq. m... This is the area of the path.

Cost: 1600 x 150 = Rs. 240000
