A rectangular plot 85 m long and 60 m broad is to be covered with grass leaving 5 m all around. Find the area to be laid with grass.

Hi!
Here is the answer to your question.
Given, Length of the plot = 85 m
Breadth of the plot = 60 m
The grass is laid on the shaded area of the field.
Length of the field to be covered with grass = 85 m – 5 m – 5m = 75 m
Breadth of the field to be covered with grass = 60 m – 5m – 5m = 50 m
∴ Area to be laid with grass = 75 m × 50 m = 3750 m2

Best Wishes!
