A sample of zinc oxide contains 80.25% zinc. Calculate the equivalent mass of zinc.

Dear Student,

We can use oxide method to calculate equivalent mass :

Equivalent mass = Mass of metal ×8Mass of oxygen in oxide
Mass of oxygen in oxide = 100 - 80.25 = 19.75

80.25 ×819.75 = 32.50 g
