A sharp knife is more effective than a blunt knife.why?

A sharp knife cuts objects better because due to its very thin edge, the force of our hand falls over a sharp small area of the object producing a large pressure. And this large pressure cuts the object easily. A blunt knife has a thicker edge and does not cut the object easily. The lesser pressure cuts the object with difficulty.

it cuts better because it is sharper. the force exerted on it is greater than it would be if it was blunt. The area on the tip of the blade is small meaning the pressure exerted is all at the end of the tip making it easier to use. (the force on both knives is the same)

sharp kniver have less area so the pressure applied is more so it is more effective , where as blunt knife have more area so the pressure applied is less and it is less effective.
