a shot fired from cannon explodes in air . what will be the change in momentum and the kinetic energy ?

When a canon ball explodes in air the change in momentum is zero because the momentum of the system remains conserved but the kinetic energy of the system increases because the chemical energy stored in the cannon ball is converted into the mechanical energy.
