" A small Shrine half protrudes from the stone platform on the river bank. when it emerges fully the Goddess inside will escape and evil period of Kalyug and on the earth". Pls explain this statement. This is from Kathmandu from class 9 beehive..
Dear student,
A shrine is a holy or sacred place dedicated to a specific deity. A shrine associated with a goddess is seen jutting out of a level surface at Pashupatinath. People believe that when the shrine appears fully (as currently only a part of it can be seen), the goddess will be able to escape from it. That incident will mark the end of Kaliyug which is the era when evil has flourished on earth.
Regards
