a social organisation decided to plant 100 plants in a rectangular park of dimensions 31.15m*4.40m.to perform this activity 2 types of plants were selected one plant covrd an area of dia 56cm and the other type covrd an area of 35cm in dia.the uncovrd area is 4 times the covrd area

1)find the no of plants of each type?

Dimensions of rectangular park = 31.15 m ×4.40 m
So area of rectangular park =31.15m×4.40 m =137.06 m2
Now the uncovered area = 4 times the covered area
Thus covered area = 137.065=27.412 m2
And uncovered area = 27.412 m2×4=109.648 m2
Let the number of plants which covered an area of diameter  56cm be x
And number of plants which covered an area of diameter 35 cm be y.

So x+y =100 (given).......................(1)Now  x×π×(0.56)24+y×π×(0.35)24=27.412 m2   (as area of a circle in terms of diameter=πd24)x×0.2464 +y×0.0962=27.412 m2........(2)solving (1) and (2) ,we get values  more than 100 which cannot be possible So I think the data given in the question is wrong .However the method remains the same
