Assume depth of the well = d. 

Using kinematics equation

s = ut + (1/2)at2 and u = 0, a = g, s = d

=> d = (1/2)gt2 ...........................(1)

velocity of sound in air = 332 m/s

Time in which sound travels = (1.45-t) s

d = speed sound * time

=> d = 332(1.45-t)......................(2)
