# A STUDENT OBTAINS A BLURRED IMAGE OF AN OBJECT ON A SCREEN BY USING CONCAVE MIRROR. IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A SHARP IMAGE ON THE SCREEN, WHERE HE WILL HAVE TO SHIFT THE MIRROR?

position of the reflected image depends on the distance of the real object from the concave mirror which depends on the focal length of the mirror too...
So you cant definitely say towards or away from the screen depending on the focal length of the mirror.

Hi,

He will have to move the mirror towards the screen beacuse blurred image is seen only when the separation between the screen and the mirror is less than the focal length.

Hope it helps!

@ mridul - as u said tat  blurred image is seen only when the separation between the screen and the mirror is less than the focal length , den d mirror will have to move away from d screen na...in order to attain tat much focal length????

It is either towards or away from screen depending upon the position of the object

In a concave mirror, it bends inwards.
So you'd have to move the mirror towards or away from the screen until it's focuses clearly onto the screen - Real image is formed as it can be projected onto the screen.

he has to move the screen towards the mirror

If instead of convave mirror there will be convex lens So what will be the answer Plz... Help!

concave mirror is a diverging lens lens. that means the image is blurred because it is formed behind the screen. ie-virtual.
so to obtain a clear and real image he will have to move the screen away from the mirror.

Towards the screen.

he have to move the mirror towards the screen

it is towards the screen
by the way it does not depend on distance
as distance is infinity
it is not away because image wont be formed before focus ( rays do not meet )
it is hence towards the mirror

In order to get a sharp image on the screen the student will have to shift the mirror away from the object.

In a concave mirror it bends in words so you would have to move the mirror towards or away from the screen until its focus is clear on to the screen really make his form that it can be projected onto the screen
