A train is moving towards east and a car is along north, both with same speed. The observed direction of the car to the passenger in the train

a) South-East direction b) North-East direction c) North-West direction d) None of these

According to the relative motion concept, the car will be moving in the North-West direction as seen from the train. Why?
This is because when train is moving in east direction car will be receding away in west direction as seen from the train. Also, since car is moving in north direction the resultant velocity of the car as seen from the train will be resultant of velocity along the west direction and north direction. Since velocity of train and car is same the resultant direction of velocity of car as seen from the train will be North-west direction.
