/a two digit number is 3  more than 4 times the sum of its digits . If 18 is added to the number,the digits are reversed. Find the number.

Let the digits at the units place and tens place be x and y respectively.
 
∴ Original number = 10y + x
 
Reverse number = 10x + y
 
Given, two digit number = 4 × sum of digits + 3

two digit no. = ( 10 x t.p.d.) + o.p.d.

  = ( 10 x y) + x

  = 10y + x

now

10y + x = 4(x +y) + 3

10y + x = 4x +4y +3

10y - 4y +x -4y =3

-3x +6y = 3

divided by 3

-x +2y = 1

now again A/P

10y + x +18 = 10x + y

10y-y +x -10x =-18

-9x + 9y =-18

divided by 9

-x + y =-2
