HOW TO SUBTRACT

 A 2 4 6

- 5 2 B 7

 I C D E

Here in this we need to subtract, we need to remember that all the alphabet are different , so all the digits will also be different

first of all we will start from extreme right end

It will give 9 , now we will subtract B from 3 .

Here the value of B can be either more than 3 or less than 3

And if we see third digit , we need to subtract 2 from 2, this means either adjacent number has taken carry, then we get, 11-2 = 9 , which we have already got .

Another condition can be 2-2 = 0

  A 2 4 6

-   5 2 B 7

  I 0 D 9

Now we will subtract B from 3 in the second digit

There are three values which will exist i.e. 0,1,2

0 has already been used so, two values are applicable i.e. 1,2

So, if we subtract any number i.e. 1,2 form 3, we get 1,2

So the value of A AND I is not 1,2

Now we see will subtract 5 from A

We get 3 values of A i.e. 6,7,8

So, if we subtract 5 from 8 we get , 3 and other values are not applicable

So there are two solutions

(i)   8 2 4 6

  -   5 2 1 7

   3 0 2 9

(ii)  8 2 4 6

  -  5 2 2 7

   3 0 1 9
