Rectifier is an electronic circuit used to convert an alternating signal into a unidirectional signal. Usually semiconductor diodes are employed in the rectifier circuit. The diode conducts only when it is forward biased. There are two types of rectifiers: Half wave rectifier and full wave rectifier.
