Body movements, as well as sensations, occurring in one side of the body, are controlled by the opposite side of the brain. This means that if the right of the brain gets damaged (as in the case given by you), the effects on the movement of right side of the body will be seen and if the left side of the brain gets damaged, the effects will be seen on the right side of the body.
