The difference between a Manger and a Leader :

Basis of Difference Manager Leader
Existence Managers exists only in formal organisations. Leaders can exist in formal as well as informal orgaisations.
Objective The objective of managers is to focus on the goals of the organisation. The objective of the Leader is to focus on the individual as well as the group goals of the followers.
Power and Authority They have formal authority and power to influence the behaviour of the employees. They do not have any formal power or authority to influence the behaviour of the followers.
Functional Spread Managers are responsible for planning, organising, staffing and directing. A leader's role is to guide and motivate the followers.
