# Amit sells two scooters at Rs.35000 each . One he gains 25 percentage and on the other he loses 25 percentage . How much does he gain or lose in the whole transaction . (Show steps and do ) .

Dear Student,

Selling price of scooter = Rs. 35000

Profit = 25%

Cost price of scooter =
CP = $\frac{35000}{\frac{100+25}{100}}$
CP = $\frac{35000×100}{125}$
CP = Rs. 28000

Loss = 25%

CP =
CP = $\frac{35000}{\frac{100-25}{100}}$
CP = $\frac{35000×100}{75}$
CP = Rs. 46666.67

Total CP = 28000 + 46666.67 = 74666.67

Total SP = 35000 + 35000 = 70000

Here, CP > SP hence there is a loss

Loss% = $\frac{74666.67-70000}{74666.67}×100$
= 6.25 %

35000 should not be selling price but it should be cost price. If cost price is 35000 each than Amit will earn a profit of rupees 1750.
