an activity with tuning forks

Activity 1:

First, strike the tuning fork against the rubber pad and touch its one prong with a small bead suspended with a thread. The bead will be set into vibrations indicationg that the prongs of tuning fork are vibrating about their mean position.

Activity 2:

After the tuning fork is sruck against a rubber pad and the tuning for is held upside down in a basin of water, you will see waves in the water, because of the vibrations of the tuning fork.

Activity 3:

If you want, you can bring the vibrating tuning fork near your ear. You'll hear some sound.
