AN EARTH SATELLITE IS MOVING AROUND THE EARTH IN A CIRCULAR ORBIT. FOR SUCH A SATELLITE WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IS WRONG  ?
(A) IT IS A FREELY FALLING BODY
(B) IT IS MOVING WITH A CONSTANT SPEED
(C) IT SUFFERS NO ACCELERATION
(D) TIME PERIOD OF SATELLITE IS INDEPENDENT OF SATELLITE

Dear Student ,
Here the answer will be option D .
Now why D?
At first the satellite is not a freely falling body as it is rotating around the Earth in a certain trajectory or orbit and this distance is very high from the surface of the Earth. This is the reason that we can not take it as a freely falling body .
Now the satellite does not move with a constant speed as the speed varies with  eccentricity of the orbit and thus there is acceleration present in the motion of a satellite .
Now the time period of a satellite is , T=2πRg1+hR32
This is the main reason which says that the time period of satellite is independent of  mass of satellite .
Hope it helps .

I think the option would be D

The answer is option A) IT IS A FREELY FALLING BODY. We cannot say it is a freely falling body because it is moving around a orbit and it is not being attracted by any gravitational pull of any mass in a particular direction.
