an element has two oxides XO and XO2.. XO is neutral ,insoluble in water ,flammable and poisonous in nature... XO2 is acidic in nature ,soluble in water and extinguishers fire..IDENTIFY X and explain how it reacts with water

Dear student,...X is non-metal because it forms acidic oxide.Example:- sulphur, Carbon,etc.....Non-metals don't usually react with water but the non-metal oxides do react with water and they produce acids. One example is chlorine gas (chlorine oxide) reacts with clouds (water) to form acids which come down as acid rain...regards.
