An element ?X? displaces iron from the aqueous solution of iron
sulphate. List your observations if the element ?X? is treated with the
aqueous solutions of copper sulphate, zinc sulphate and silver
nitrate. Based on the observations arrange X, Zn, Cu and Ag in
increasing order of their reactivities.

Dear student,

The element X is Magnesium, as magnesiumis more reactive from iron & hence, it displaces iron from the aqueous solution of iron
sulphate.

Observations:

Magnesium with copper sulphate: Mg + CuSO4--> MgSO4+Cu
Magnesium with zinc sulphate: Mg+ ZnSO4--> MgSO4+Zn
Magnesium with silver nitrate: Mg + 2AgNO3-->Mg(NO3)2+2Ag.

Increasing order of their reactivities:

Ag<Cu<Fe<Zn<Mg
