AN ELEMENT X HAS MASS NO.' 35 N NUMBER OF NEUTRONS 18.

1.ATOMIC NO. OF X?

PLSS EXPLAIN?

i think chlorine has mass no. 35.

it's atomic number is 17.

  • 3

it is actually.  35.5

  • -4

we know that

atomic mass = no. of protons + no. of neutrons

no. of protons= atomic no.

in this case,

the atomic mass = 35 and

no. of neutrons = 18

so the no. of prontons(atomic number of x) = 35-18 = 17

hence, the atomic number of x is 17 and the element is chlorine

hope it helps......

Atomic no. of x Is 17

but an isotope of argon also has these features
  • 3
Its atomic number = 35 - 18 = 17 Electronic configuration = 2 , 8 , 8 Group number = 17 Period number = it contains 8 valence electrons so it is in 3rd period Valency = 1

Mass no =no of proton +no of neutron Let the no of proton =x Now, 35 =x+18, x =35-18, x = 17 So the element is chlorine and the group no is 3 and it's electronic configuration is 2,8,7

Mass number of element is 35 Number of neutrons= 18 Formula to find number of protons: Mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons. 35=× +18 ×=35 - 18 X=17. Number of protons =17 and number of electrons also will be 17 as atom is electrically neutral. Hence Element is chlorine Group no. = 17 Period no. 3

is mass number equal to atomic mass???

  • 0
The mass number of any element is the sum of the number of protons and number of neutrons. Since the number of neutrons is 18 the number of protons would be 17. The atomic number of any element is the number of protons present in it. So the atomic number is 17 and the element is chlorine
