an Indian citizen wants to change his religion. will the law allow him to do so

India is a secular country, that is everyone has the right to decide and follow his or her own religion without the interference of any individual or group. The 42nd Amendment of the Indian constitution clearly states that India as a secular nation. A person can easily change his or her religion though the person will have to register the same.

According to the fundamental rights Indian citizens have right to choose there own religion and can not be compelled to follow a particular religion by any of the person even he/she would be his family member or friend.
