An iron bar magnet is heated to 1000oC and then cooled in a magnetic field free space. Will it retain magnetism? Give reason.

At 1,000 C, which is quite above the Curie temperature for iron (770 C), the iron will behave as paramagnetic. Moreover, when a magnet is heated, it loses its magnetism. Hence, iron bar magnet on heating to 1,000 C and then cooled, will not retain its magnetism.
