An object is moving with uniform speed in a circle of radius r. Calculate the distance and displacement (a) When it complete half the circle (b) When it completes full circle (c) What type of motion does the object possess ? (Justify your answer)

Radius =r

a) Distance covered by the object when it completes half the circle = Circumference of the semicircle

= Pi * r

Displacement of the object when it completes half the circle= Diameter of the circle(Shortest distance between initial and final position)

= 2r

b) Distance covered by the object when it completes full circle = Circumference of a circle

= 2*Pi*r

Displacement covered by the object when it completes full circle = 0 (As it starts at a certain point and comes back to the same point)

c) The type of motion observed by the object is accelerated motion because as the object moves along a circular path its speed remains constant but the direction of the body changes at every instant of time. As the direction changes the velocity of the body also changes.

Hope this helps!!!!!
