An object is placed at a distance of 24cm from a convex lens of focal length 10cm, when an image is obtained on other side of the lens. Calculate the distance of the screen from the lens.

So u = -24 cm, f = 10 cm.

So 1/v + 1/u = 1/f
1/v + 1/(-24) = 1/10
1/v = 1/10 - 1/24
1/v = 12 - 5/120
1/v = 7/120
v = 120/7 = 17.14 cm
