Yes, I do agree that The Last Leaf is a story of supreme sacrifice by an old artist. Behrman always wished to draw a masterpiece-which he did draw! In the process, he saved a precious young life also-even though he lost his life.
Behrman?s work could become a masterpiece because of the supreme sacrifice the old artist made.
