Answer the question in about 120- 150 words.

How did Civil Disobedience triumph for the first time in India ?

Solution:-

When Gandhi reached Motihari, he was asked to leave by the authorities. He was later served an official notice ordering him to suspend his inquiry and movement and leave Motihari immediately. Gandhi signed the receipt of the notice and wrote on it that he would disobey the order. Therefore, he was served a summons by the court. During Gandhi's trial, the peasants of Motihari filled the court to showcase their support. The authorities were shocked to see the support that Gandhi received. They seemed powerless and helpless in controlling the crowd. In the trial, Gandhi pleaded guilty and refused to seek bail. The judge released Gandhi without bail. A few days later the case against Gandhi was dropped. So, civil disobedience triumphed for the first time in India.
