26. In the experiment to determine the density of a given solid (insoluble in water) by using a spring balance and a measuring cylinder, a student made the following observations.
mass of solid = 100g
initial reading of water in measuring cylinder = 50 ml
Final reading of water in measuring cylinder= 75 ml
calculate the density of a given solid on the basis of above observation.
Here,
Volume of the solid=Difference in reading of cylinder
=(75-50)ml
=25ml
Given,mass of solid=100g
So,density of object=(100/25) g/ml [Density=Mass/Volume]
=4 g/ml
Volume of the solid=Difference in reading of cylinder
=(75-50)ml
=25ml
