Dear Student, 

The Daoist view of the universe identifies two extreme but complementary elements that make up the universe. These elements are 'Yin' and 'Yang'. Yin is the feminine, receptive, fluid and cool element of the universe whereas Yang is the stable, warm, dry, masculine and active element of the universe. The interaction between Yang and Yin is the most important concept of Daoism.
