Give reasons to support your answer b) Give two differences between physical and chemical changes? c) Write two examples of chemical and physical changes each in our da -to-day life.

Dear Student,

1)Baking a cake is a chemical change. A chemical change is produce a new substance.Baking a cake involves many different chemical reactions. The leavening agent(Leavening agents such as baking soda, baking powder and yeast)reacts with the other components and heat to create carbon dioxide. This gas and steam are produced, then stuck in tiny chambers throughout the protein structure shaped by the liquid, flour and sugar. Also baking a cake, producing an endothermic chemical reaction that changes batter into a fluffy cake and give it lightness.
2)Physical change is a process in which the substance does not transforms into a new substance, having same chemical composition. It is reversible. Absorption and evolution of energy do not take place.
Chemical Change is a process in which the substance transforms into a new substance, having different chemical composition. It is Irreversible. Absorption and evolution of energy take place, during reaction.

3)Melting of candle,Freezing of water into ice are examples of Physical Changes in our Daily Life.
Burning wood, iron rusting are examples of Chemical Changes in our Daily Life.
