1. The calculations are as follows - 

2. The percentage decrease is used to compare the results since initial weight of each leaf was different. Thus for comparison we need to have a common criteria. Hence percentage decrease is used instead of simple decrease in weight since beginning weight of each leaf was different.

3. Leaf one was used as a control since it shows natural decrease in leaf weight due to normal transpiration or water loss. The other two leaves were covered with Vaseline which stopped water loss. Thus for comparison between leaf weights in different conditions leaf one is used.

4. Leave 2 had the smallest percentage decrease in weight because Vaseline was used to covered the lower surface of this leaf. Since the lower surface of leaves have more stomata from where transpiration or water loss occurs. Thus due to covering of Vaseline water loss from the lower surface was stopped in this leaf and hence the results.
