Are the purely rational houyhnhnms ideal beings? why/why not?
Gulliver was glad to find that though Houyhnhnms looked like horses, they had all the intelligence of humans. They did all the household work with perfection. They were all well-mannered, modest and decent.
However, with regards to Yahoos, he found that the Yahoos were strange creatures who looked like humans. They were hairy and had claws for climbing trees. They were actually quite disgusting to look at. They were filthy and smelt terribly bad. They were omnivorous and preferred to eat meat and garbage. They represented man who was driven by his primal desires.
