As compared to amazon river , pollution in river ganga will affect human life greatly .Why?

GANGA'S POLLUTION?

- Ganga is the largest river in India.

- The river provides water to 40% of Indian population which is approximately 500 million people.

-The river is mainly polluted by human waste and industrial contaminants.?

- As at now it is considered the 5th most polluted river in the world.

- Given that it provides water to a large population, it poses great threats to human life.

- This is because the population uses the water for bathing, laundry, cooking, washing and even drinking.

- Due to these contamination many people have been contracting waterborne diseases such as dysentery, cholera, hepatitis as well as severe diarrhea.

- Severe diarrhea has been the leading cause of death for children in India as of late.

From this we see that the pollution of river Ganga is really affecting human life greatly.

Please note that this is my opinion and may not be the correct answer.

River Ganga and its tributaries are densely populated at banks as compared to the Amazon. Moreover, many people in India are dependent on river Ganga for water for irrigation. If this water gets unfit for use then life of millions of people would be affected as compared to Amazon whivh is not as denely populated as the Ganga
