Dear diary,

Today happened to be the best and the most memorable day of my life. I was very eager to be a part of the NCC group of our school and today we had the selections. The selection procedure was rigorous but proved to be fantastic. Boys from various parts of the country had participated in this selection procedure. I tried to give my best and was determined from within that I will be selected. But, I was very very nervous. At last when the selected names were called, my name led all the rest. I was awarded with a certificate and a medal as the Best NCC Cadet and I have also bagged the opportunity to represent our state in the Republic Day parade to be held in New Delhi this year. Everyone congratulated me and my parents were so proud of me and they were so happy that they had tears in their eyes.
